| My blog has moved to a Wordpress site. It can be found here: Cramerville
See you at Wordpress. | | |
| Whew… it’s been a while. I can’t believe it’s been almost 4 weeks since the last update. I don’t even know where to start. I’ll have to put some thoughts together. I’ll just start by saying I didn’t mean to neglect the blog. On several occasions, I’ve sat down at the computer to maybe start one and I end up reading all my friends’ blogs instead. Before you know it, an hour has passed and it’s time to feed Naomi, or put her down for a nap, or something like that. And then the blog never happens.
I hate that you can only put one thing in the “currently reading/listening/watching” section. I’d like to be able to do as many as I want. For a long time, I’ve wished there was a “Currently Eating” section, but since you can’t buy food on Amazon they haven’t made that a choice yet (or can you buy food? I’ve never looked). I’d also like to list TV shows. So here:
Currently Listening to: James Taylor at Christmas Sarah McLachlan “Wintersong” U2 “Achtung Baby”
Currently Reading: Anne Lamott “Traveling Mercies” Tracy Hogg “The Baby Whisperer Solves All Your Problems”
Currently Watching (on a fairly regular basis): The Ellen Degeneres Show Martha Stewart (I often complain about how boring and uncharismatic she is, but somehow I find it to be a pleasant show) The O.C Reruns Private Practice Grey’s Anatomy
Currently Eating: At this very moment, Kraft Dinner Extra Creamy Lately: all about various butternut squash soups and gyros (not together) Fantasizing about: making a pie
Since it’s the Christmas Season, I think I’ll fill out this Christmas Survey that Shannon and Shelley have done.
1. Wrapping paper or gift bag? Depends on the gift. If I use gift bags, they’re always recycled ones. Don’t think I’ve ever bought a Christmas gift bag.
2. Real tree or artificial? Real or nothing, baby. Josh and I have never had a tree yet, but once again, our houseplant Roger has a few little ornaments on it.
3. When do you put up the tree? Whenever you get it. Which I think shouldn’t be before December 1st.
4. When do you take the tree down? The first week in January. Maybe New Year’s Day given you’re not watching football or nursing a hang over. ;)
5. Do you like eggnog? LOVE it. Josh and I buy it as soon as it’s in the stores in October. I like it plain, I like it with rum, I like egg nog lattes, I like to drink it from the carton. I love it.
6. Favorite gift received as a child? Hmm, one year I got these roller skates that were pink and white. I loved them and rolled all over the place in them with my neighbor friends.
7. Do you have a nativity scene? Not yet. I’d like to have a nice one soon.
8. Hardest person to buy for? Our parents. Don’t know why.
9. Easiest person to buy for? Me. I always know exactly what I want. Ha ha
10. When do you start shopping for Christmas? Usually during the 2 weeks or so before Christmas. But I usually get things organized before then, as far as knowing what I’m looking for.
11. Mail or email Christmas cards? Mail. Although, this year it will be pretty limited.
12. Favorite Christmas Movies? I didn’t grow up watching a lot of the classics, but I like “A Christmas Story” (who doesn’t?) and “Love Actually.” “White Christmas” drives me crazy.
14. Your worst Christmas gift ever? The first year Josh and I were married he bought me “Devo’s Greatest Hits.” Unfortunately, Devo only had one great hit… But I have to confess that same year I got Josh a really lame Texas Holdem’ set, so we’re tied.
15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? Mmm, the Nog. Brandy filled chocolates. Stuffing. Pistachios.
16. Clear lights or colored on the tree? I think I prefer the clear ones.
17. Favorite Christmas song? Over the last couple years I’ve grown to really love O Come O Come Emmanuel.
18. Travel at Christmas or stay home? Travel home?
19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer's? Well, if I had to do it without cheating- Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen, Rudolph, and Vixen and? Who named the reindeer anyway?
20. Angel on the tree top or a star? Hmm, I don’t know that I have a preference, but maybe angel.
21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? I think you should get to open at least one present on Christmas Eve, but all the rest on Christmas morning. And stockings must come in the morning before the rest of the presents.
22. Most annoying thing about this time of year? The financial stress and how it always feel like there’s not enough time.
23. What I love most about Christmas? I love the atmosphere,. I love traditions and spending time with family. This year I’m excited about my first Christmas as a parent. I’m looking forward to seeing Christmas through the eyes of my children.
Here’s a couple runner ups for the Cramer Family Christmas photo. Thanks to Shelley for taking them. And a reminder, I update my online photo album more often than I update this blog so check em out!

| I've been sleeping so hard lately, when I get to sleep that is. Today, I tried to take a nap and couldn't fall asleep for the first time in at least 3 weeks. I swept the floor, cleaned the microwave, started laundry, and laid in bed wide awake.
It finally occurred to me that I drank my first caffeinated mocha since January earlier in the day.... dang it.
